It’s really very easy. Here are a few things you need to know to get started:
First, to ask a question you will need to register with our site. Click on the “Register” tab above and fill in the short form that is displayed. Please make sure you specify a valid email address. This is the only way we have of letting you know that your question has been answered. After registering you will automatically be logged in the first time. When returning to the site you will need to use the “Login” tab at top to login and check your question or to ask another question.
Second, questions are grouped by categories and arranged in forums. Within a forum, a thread is a string of questions and answers on the same topic.
For example: If you wanted to ask the question, “What can I use to clean the front of my microwave oven?” You would:
1. Move your mouse cursor over the “Find Answers” tab above and click on “Appliance Questions.”
2. Click on the “Microwave Questions” forum
3. Click on “New Thread”
4. Type a short version of your question in the “Subject” field.
5. If you need to explain your question further use the larger text box below the “Subject” field for an expanded version of your question. Please remember that everyone visiting the site will be able to view your question and its answer. So please, we ask that you make your questions look nice. Please use proper capitalization and punctuation.
6. Click the “Notification:” checkbox if you want to be notified by email when your question has a response.
7. You may ignore “Tread Status:” or chose a status of “Unresolved”, “Resolved” or “Informative”
8. You may then click on “Submit” to post your question. Or, you can click on “Preview” to see what your question will look like and change it if necessary. Or, you may click “Cancel” to cancel the question and be returned to the previous page.
9. Once your question is answered you may return to the site to view the answer and you may “Reply” to the answer to get more clarification if needed.
Please note that all forums are moderated. This means that you will not immediately see your question after submitting it. It will be reviewed and approved or rejected. You will receive an email letting you know. This allows us the chance to reject any question that may be inappropriate.
